For this project the cover wrap was electronically painted in Adobe Photoshop using a tablet. All the typesetting was done using Adobe InDesign. When typesetting the copy the Van de Graaf canon was used to establish margins. Using the Van de Graaf canon for this novel I felt was mandatory, since it is a long story, using this canon gives the text plenty of breathing room and let’s the reader feel less overwhelmed with the amount of text coming at them. It allows for a relaxing and enjoyable read. The cover was painted electronically with splatter painting techniques in mind. The reason for this was to mimic a rough sea and the splashing of water that the sailors would experience.
