This whole project was tackled in a minimalist way. Star Wars is such an iconic trilogy that even by only showing a quarter of each character, most of the people viewing it will know right away what you are referring to. Since it is a re-design and we are not introducing the product for a first time I felt I could get away with this, the people that love Star Wars will get it, and the rest are people that we are not targeting anyways. Each DVD design was created using single colours with multiple tones; this again is going back to that minimalist style. The colour choices for each movie come from the settings that each movie spends the majority of time in which is sand, forest and space. The circle that houses the title of Star Wars Trilogy on the front of the box is meant to symbolize the death star, it also has a stamp quality to it that may also be interpreted as a stamp of approval. This product would be released as a Limited Edition collector’s box set. True Star Wars fans are always looking for Star Wars artwork and memorabilia, by tackling this project in a different way than it is usually depicted I think most Star Wars fan would be drawn to it. That is also why the Storm trooper poster was added in, it is meant to draw in more of the Star Wars enthusiast rather than someone who has never watched the trilogy before.
